Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt called yesterday for more, not less, globalisation to fight inequality and narrow the gap between rich and poor countries. Verhofstadt, whose country holds the rotating European Union presidency, also proposed expanding the Group of Eight industrial powers to include representatives of regional trading groups.
