Belgium withdraws from French plutonium contracts, Greenpeace calls decision potentially fatal blow to industry

Belgium's defence minister announced that his country is withdrawing from plutonium reprocessing contracts signed with the French state controlled company COGEMA. Greenpeace, saying the decision is a potentially fatal blow to the plutonium industry, has hailed the announcement as good for the environment, public health and the cause of nuclear non-profiferation.
