Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has developed a device to reduce transmission losses of power and protect series capacitors of 400 Kv systems from sudden rise in voltage. The device called 'spark gap' is for installation in the country's highest rating transmission systems of 400 Kv.
