Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), has successfully completed trial run of the first Gas Turbine Unit at the World Bank funded 350 MW Kayamkulam Combined Cycle Power Project (CCPP), in Kerala.Significantly, Kayamkulam CCPP is the first power project of its kind in the country, set up after raising the level of site from 2 Metres below sea-level to 2 metres above sea-level, through dredging, filling and dynamic compaction.
