The energy scenario in Bihar seems to be going from bad to worse. Since indepandence, the installed capacity in India has increased manifold (from 1,362 mw in 1947 to 90,000 mw today) its per capita power consumption remains as low as 315 units, as compared to an excess of 10,000 units for the developed countries.
