The Brahmaputra River System has received the highest marks in the preliminary ranking study conducted on the hydro sites potential for all river basins in the country. According to an official release, Indus, Ganga, east flowing rivers, west flowing rivers and Central Indian rivers follow in the merit order after the Brahmaputra river system, according to the study conducted by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
