Still recovering from the spate of deaths due to floods and landslips, parts of Nepal are now in the grip of a viral encephalitis epidemic. Some 70 deaths due to viral encephalitis, commonly referred to as brain fever, have been reported from Nepal's southern region, bordering the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh states of India, over the past month.
