A professor and a team from the Shanghai Transgenic Centre have made a major breakthrough in therapeutic cloning. Professor Cheng Guoxiang and his team have developed an embryo in its early stages by transferring the nuclei of adult somatic cells into human eggs-- the precursor to fetuses. Two other professors will research the foetus's growth.
