The US government is hoping to launch the largest ever clinical trial into breast cancer treatments. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is planning to conduct a trial involving over 20,000 women to compare the effectiveness of two new much vaunted cancer drugs, tamoxifen and raloxifene. The Food and Drug Administration still has to approve the trial, which will focus on post-menopausal women at a high risk of the disease.
