Scientists have developed a new kind of breath-analyser that can detect traces of gases which signal health disorders like diabetes, kidney failure, ulcers and possibly cancer. Relying on the theory that smells of compounds indicate health disorders, like the fishy smell of amine may point to kidney problems or the sweet smell of acetone can mean diabetes, the device could provide fast, non-invasive diagnosis, reports the journal "Science".
