Brown seeks backers for scheme to boost development aid funding

Gordon Brown, Britain's finance minister, will try to muster further international support for his plans to double the amount of development aid the world's richest countries give to its poorest. It will be attended by representatives from the Group of Seven leading indusrialised countries, as well as the International Monetary Fund, religious groups and charities such as Oxfam and Save the Children.
