Sweden's largest independent power generator called on the European Commission to block government plans to decommission the first of the country's 12 nuclear reactors this year. Sydkraft, which has been ordered to close its Barseback I reactor by July, has filed a complaint in Brussels claiming that the government was flouting EU competition rules by proceeding with the plan.
