The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in the Garo Hills border facing Bangladesh has been assisting the villagers in improving their living standard by donating a series of items through its annual civic action programme. The programme has been gaining momentum since the last couple of years and is primarily targeted at the villagers living in the extreme fringes of the international border where daily life is a severe challenge due to lack of basic amenities like proper distribution of safe drinking water, roads, electricity, health and entertainment.
