By 2050, fewer will die by 50, but AIDS, cancer, TB will kill more

The World Health Organisation expects people to live longer and healthier lives but in developing countries it predicts that diseases like cancer, AIDS, tuberculosis and heart diseases will cut short life. According to the World Health Report 1998: Life in the 21st century - a Vision For All published by WHO, life expectancy is expected to increase in the 21st century with people living longer and healthier lives. By the year 2050, the report predicts, premature deaths, deaths under the age of 50 years, will be reduced by half and life expectancy will increase from 66 years to 73 years globally.France alone is expected to have 150,000 centenarians by the year 2050 as opposed to 200 in 1950.
