Cabinet approves Rs 40-cr bio-mass energy project

The Karnataka State Cabinet approved a Rs 40-crore project, which provides for generation of power through bio-mass, in 24 villages of Tumkur taluk.The speciality of the project, which will be managed by farmers themselves, is that it uses bio-mass, wood chips, cow-dung and similar waste materials as raw materials and the power thus generated will be used for running irrigation pumpsets and drinking water supply in the villages of Tumkur district.
