The State Cabinet on Wednesday decided to make available Government security worth Rs387.40 crore under Integrated Housing and Slums Development Programme and Basic Services for Urban Poor. With this, decks have been cleared for the construction of 60,000 houses for the urban poor. Under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme and Basic Services for Urban poor 60,000 housing units are being constructed for the urban poor in cities of Madhya Pradesh under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Construction of these houses was lying incomplete in the absence of security for escalated cost of these housing units. With a view to removing this hurdle in the interest of the poor, the Cabinet decided to make available this security to urban bodies against loans being taken from HUDCO.
The Madhya Pradesh Government has allotted land for these houses free of cost. The Union Government had also given a reward to Madhya Pradesh Government last year for excellent works for the urban poor.
The Cabinet also decided to provide compensation to farmers under Pench Diversion Project in Chhindwara district as per Collector Guidelines for the year 2012 plus 30 per cent amount added to it. The farmers, whose land has been acquired or under process will get its benefit. A provision of Rs198 crore was made for the submergence area, which has now mounted to Rs301 crore. This will benefit farmers of 30 villages, whose source of income has been affected.
The Cabinet gave nod for payment of Rs 5 crore in connection with liabilities of Madhya Pradesh Agriculture and Rural Development Bank towards NABARD under Cooperatives Department. Concession of two years was accorded in the qualifying service period for promotion to the post of Chief Engineer in the Urban Administration and Development Department. Due to it, works of coordination, inspection etc. will be undertaken smoothly and quality work will be done within time-limit. Due to these posts remaining vacant, supervision and coordination of major projects in the urban bodies and examination of reports of EWO and Lokayukta organisations were being affected.
The Cabinet decided to extend the period of 50 percent of the sanctioned posts under DRDA Administration Project in district panchayats for another five years. The Cabinet decided to temporarily withdraw five per cent of the pension of the then Additional Collector, Rajgarh MM Sharma for a period of one year. Similarly, it was decided to withdraw 10 per cent of pension of retired Deputy Conservator of Forests A Geete for two years.
