CAG hints that social welfare board needs to pack up

Fifty years after it was set up to help disadvantaged women and children, the programmes run by the Central Social Welfare Board (CSWB) have failed to make a mark. Most of them become redundant. It is time to reassess the need for continuing the board's various activities, says the latest report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), in effect hinting that the board should be wound up.
