Cairn Energy of UK has made a significant oil discovery in deep water block in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, in offshore Andhra Pradesh. This is the second hydrocarbon discovery by Cairn in just over a year from the signing of the production sharing contract (PSC) for the block, which was awarded to it under the new exploration licensing policy (NELP) Round-I.
