A California environmental group on Tuesday filed suit against more than a dozen major oil companies, charging them with allowing dangerous chemicals to contaminate the state's water supply. "Our action today will force the big oil companies to pay for their failure to prevent massive amounts of pollution," Leslie Fields, executive director of the group Communities for a Better Environment, said in a statement.
