Experts participating in the National conference on Potential of Water Harvesting have recommended the setting up of a unified authority to promote water harvesting and protect the existing water harvesting structures, with adequate representation from society.At the concluding session of the three-day conference organised by the Centre for Science and Environment on Monday, the Government was criticised for not having a clear policy to conserve water and protect the local engineering systems developed by the communities over the years to conserve every drop of rain water. Experts and NGOs agreed that "water should be everybody's business".
