Central Electricity Authority has accorded techno-economic clearance to 1000 MW Rihand Super Thermal Power project Stage II to be built by NTPC at a completed cost of Rs 4049 crore. This is a pithead coal-based thermal power station located on the southern bank of Rihand reservoir in Sonebhadra district of UP.
