Centre has approved Rs. 237.70 crore project for conservation of Dal lake in Jammu and Kashmir. An amount of Rs. 6.50 crore has been released upto ending January 2005 to Lakes and Waterways Development Authority for carrying Dal conservation measures. This information was given by the Minister for Tourism and Housing G. H. Mir in reply to a question by Shamima Firdous regarding steps taken by the government to save Dal lake in the House.
