Centre approves Rs 2,500 cr plan outlay for J-K

Keeping with Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee's promise to strengthen the economy of Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre today approved a Rs 2,500 crore plan outlay for the state for 2003-04. The Special Task Force on J-K, constituted by the Centre, also met today to discuss creation of one lakh jobs in the state as pledged by the PM. Chaired by Cabinet secretary Kamal Pande, and attended by Home secretary N. Gopalaswami, MHA special secretary (J-K) A.K. Bhandari and other senior officials from the Finance Ministry.
