The Ministry of Rural Development is considering changes to the funding pattern of some schemes by which states will have to contribute a part of the cost. Addressing the Members of Parliament of the Consultative Committee attached to the Ministry, the Minister for Rural Development, Shanta Kumar said some of the schemes might be made participatory by inviting people to enhance their contribution to reduce the States share of funds, for better implementation.
