It seems that the e-governance programme is likely to be slowed down to accommodate the recommendations of the yet-to-be-formed National Knowledge Commission (NKC) in the coming Budget.According to sources, only Rs 200 crores are being allocated for the e-governance programme of the government in the coming Budget of 2005-06 as against Rs 2550 endorsed by the earlier Prime Minister for the 2003-05 period. "Any indication for the increase in the programme will depend on the recommendation of the NKC that will take effect some time later in the year," said a highly-placed source.
