As per provisions of the draft report on the total projected power demand for the forthcoming 12 years, the centre is actively considering a proposal to raise the ratio of hydro-power and thrmal power considerably. According to the Vision 2012 report, the government wants to raise the ratio from 26:74 to 40:60.
