The Centre has criticized the Nagaland Government for its failure to implement the various Centrally sponsored Rural Development schemes in the State. Union Minister of State for Rural Development Annasaheb MK Patil, who was here yesterday on a day-long visit to review the implementation of the projects, told reporters that the Centre, since 2000, has allocated more than Rs 86 crore to Nagaland under different Centrally-sponsored Rural Development schemes. "However, the State Rural Development Department could not implement the schemes properly and utilize the amount due to reasons best known to them," he regretted.
