The Union petroleum ministry tried to mislead the Bhure Lal committee on the price of compressed natural gas (CNG), the panel indicated in a report submitted to the Supreme Court. The ministry has shown higher CNG prices in some cities, while the panel found that it was cheaper than diesel or petrol.
