The Government of India has prepared a model amendment to the building byelaws which, if adopted by municipal corporations, will make it mandatory for all new buildings - residential or commercial - to have solar water heating systems installed. This byelaw is being circulated to all State Governments, the Advisor to the ministery of Non-Conventional Energy Sources , GOI, Dr E V R Sastry told Deccan Herald.
