Can you harvest the dew in water-starved coastal Kutch to meet at least drinking water needs? Get people in Orissa to fight malaria by introducing larvivorous fish varieties which control the vector? Or, develop a prototype for a fleet of locally-built, low-draft country boats to move health teams and medical material to those in distress during floods in Assam? These, and 17 more such plans, will now get a working chance thanks to seed money from the World Bank and several organisations backing its new initiative on innovations, the India country-level Development Marketplace.
