The Chashma Nuclear Power Project, a joint venture of China and Pakistan, will start power generation on commercial basis in June, 1999. Sources said that this project was being completed with an expenditure of Rs 31 billion and 90 percent work has already been completed upto December 31, '98. They said the Chashma project would generate 300 mw power. This project was begun in 1992 and it was to be completed by June 1995 but delayed due to non-availability of funds.
