The chewing gum manufacturers have received a further setback with the Health Ministry's Central Committee of Food Standards (CCFS) suspending the issue of use of BHA in chewing gums and bubble gums. The matter has been pending with CCFS for over last three years. This move has proved to be very disappointing for the domestic players and for the multinational players like perfetti India, Warner Lambert, Wriggleys, who have invested over Rs 300 crore in the business in India.
