China helped handle flood scare: Army

The Indian Army today thanked China for providing timely information about the recent ParChu river blockade scare that posed a flood threat in many areas of Himachal Pradesh. Brig Deepak Khurana, leader of the nine-member Indian team of Army officers, who were interacting with a delegation of the Chinese army at Chushul in Ladakh, expressed hope that such cooperation and contact in all fields, including military sphere, would further strengthen bonds of friendship between the two forces. The machanism of meetings between border forces personnel proved fruitful in the successful handling of the panic situation.
