China plans new coastal nuclear power plants

China plans to build several new nuclear power stations in coastal provinces over the next five years, the China Daily reported yesterday. The southern province of Guangdong had proposed adding two new generating units with a combined installed capacity of 2,000 megawatts to the Daya Bay nuclear plant and building a new 6,000 megawatt plant in Yangjiang, the official newspaper said.
