China has ruled out starting any newnuclear power projects in the next three years due to decreasing power demand, Xinhua news agencyquoted a senior nuclear industry official as said yesterday. The official agency quoted Shen Wenquan, director of the Nuclear Power Department under the China Nuclear Industry Corp, as saying the decision was taken because of the falling demand for power as a result of the Asian economic crisis.
