As Amritsar gears up to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the installation of the Guru Granth Sahib in Golden Temple at Amritsar, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has suggested a three-point "action plan'' for the economic development of this holy and historic border city. According to a CII release quoting the Chairman of its Punjab Council, Manish Bagrodia, given the unique character of the city, the plan encompasses three key sectors -- tourism, agriculture and textiles. These recommendations, which are part of the "action plan'', were presented to the State's Finance and Planning Minister, Surinder Singla, during a recent interaction.
