Farmers and residents living near two water waterways on the outskirts of the town have been complaining of unsafe drinking water and are in fear of being struck by an endemic problem. The Manjal Neer Channel (MNC) has its origin in Dhamal and runs seven km across the town. The channel served as an outlet from the Dhamal lake, benefiting the people in and around the town as a source of water, besides irrigating land in rural areas.
