Calcutta has been included in the Rs. 891 crore World Bank aided Enhanced Malaria Control Project for the country. The city is the only one from West Bengal to be included in the project will cover 100 districts of eight states and 19 cities. It is for the first time that the World Bank is extending financial support to tackle malaria.
