Civic body approves rehabilitation budget

Estimates for development works to be carried out colonies of the city were passed in the House Meeting of the Municipal Corporation (MC) held today. The agenda for this month was dominated by issues of the rehabilitation colonies. A number of new projects would be taken up. These include construction of the periphery road of rehabilitation colony, Kajheri in Sector 52. While an estimate was passed earlier, it was revised after the road got damaged due to the rains. The main road between Hallomajra and rehabilitation colony of Ram Darbar will be strengthened and recarpeted at a cost of Rs 53.25 lakh. Another road will be built in the rehabilitation colony, Maloya. The main road in Dadumajra Colony will be widened. An amount of Rs 66 lakh would be spent. The House also approved purchase of two sewer cleaning jetting machines for cleaning sewer lines in the city. It has also been decided that the water supply in Hallomajra village, including recently notified Deep Complex will be augmented. The councillors decided that the forms of the tenders will be available online, since many times those who want to apply cannot do so because the officials refuse to give them forms. An estimate of Rs 1.12 crore was approved for construction of community centre in Maloya village.
