Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced a series of schemes in the Health, Education and Forest Departments worth Rs 344 crore and described the same as a Puja and Id gift to the people of Assam. Addressing a Press conference here today, Gogoi said that the schemes would be financed by the 12th Finance Commission awards and the additional revenue collected by the State Government. The implementation of the schemes would start in November and those would be completed by March 31 next year. A task force headed by the Finance Commissioner has been constituted to monitor the timely implementation of the schemes.
