For nearly ten million Calcuttans, home delivery of free filtered water will end beginning early next year. Come March 1999, the Calcutta municipal Corporation, under pressure from international funding agencies, will have unveiled a subsidiary, the Water and Sewerage Authority, after hiving off and mering its water supply and sewerage departments.
