The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests has convened a meeting of all chief ministers of hydro-power generating states on August 5 to take a final decision on the proposed amendments to the Water(Prevention and Control of Pollution) Cess Act 1977 and decided ont he modalities of levying water cess.
