The Health department of the Chennai Corporation has undertaken a survey to determine the quality of different brands of soft drinks and mineral water sold in sachets or pet bottles in bunk shops in the city.After analysis of 191 samples, preliminary results show that 44 of them have been found to be unfit for human consumption due to additional saccharine and deficiency. Of these, 34 samples were sent for bacterial tests out of which 24 were found to have the presence of Coliform bacteria.
