Novel scheme being implemented in the district: Chairman

DINDIGUL: The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Committee on Public Accounts will recommend to the government to extend linking of all tanks through supply channels, a novel scheme being implemented in the district, to all districts in the State, said S. Sivaraj, Committee Chairman.
Talking to press persons after reviewing development works at the Collectorate near here on Tuesday, he said that all districts needed such novel schemes to improve water table and solve water crisis to a larger extent.
The committee would surely recommend the scheme to the government.
It would also recommend to the government to sanction additional 100 beds to Government Headquarters Hospital and to fill the vacant neurologist post, he added.
Praising the coordination of officials in implementing various schemes, the chairman advised the Collector to set right the deficiency in service at the noon meal centre in a government school at Nallamanaickanpatti near Dindigul. (Earlier, the team, during its visit to this village, found poor quality of food being supplied to the students of this school).
He informed that the Anganwadi worker of the centre was suspended and a showcause notice was also served to the Block Development Officer of the respective union.
All Block Development Officers should inspect the noon meal centres periodically and ensure that quality food was supplied to all students.
They should submit a report on the status of the Anganwadi centres and the quality of food supplied every month to the Collector, Mr. Sivaraj advised. Later, the team went to Theni to review various development works.
