The Institute of Medicine (IOM) will present the Gustav O. Lienhard award for the advancement of personal health services to H. Jack Geiger, emeritus professor at the City University of New York Medical School, on Oct 12, at IOM's annual meeting. Geiger is being honored for creating a highly successful model of the contemporary community health center to serve the poor and disadvantaged in the United States and for helping to improve the health of the minorities.
