Computerised water mapping system unveiled

A World bank affiliate unveiled a computerised-mapping system of the Earth's water resources on Thursday with hopes it will help farmers in poor nations gauge when and where to plant crops. The World Bank's Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) said its "world water and climate atlas"offered enhanced detail on temperature, precipitation and other factors affecting agricultural planning.The programme is funded by the World Bank naitons, led by the US and Japan.
