Holding the AICC chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and the Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, responsible for the inordinate delay in completion of SYL canal despite the apex court orders, the Haryana unit of the BJP has advised Congress men to gherao the two instead of the Prime Minister. Addressing newspersons here yesterday, Mr Pradeep Jain, spokesman, Haryana BJP, alleged the Congress was not serious about taking care of the interests of the people of Haryana. He said the SYL canal was considered to be a lifeline for the residents, especially the farmers of the region, and its completion would prove to be a boon for them. However, he alleged the Congress had adopted a negligent attitude towards its completion and made no sincere efforts in this connection. It had restricted itself to just issuing press statements.
