Conservation campaign set to lose steam

Thailand's successful energy conservation campaign may lose its momentum given the changing role of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in the energy market, said an energy expert. Sood Na Phuket, director of the International Institute of Energy Conservation-Asia (IIEC), said Egat's energy conservation campaign-the Demand Side Management project-has won praise from countries around the region for its far-sightedness in adopting energy conservation to scale down demands at the national level.
