Control of key headworks across Yamuna kicks up row

The sharing of Yamuna river water by the riparian states and the control of key headworks across the river has kicked up an inter-state row. While the Punjab Government has reiterated its pleas to be treated as Yamuna's riparian state, Haryana is agitated over the unlawful poaching of the inflows into the Yamuna by UP engineers above the Hathni Kund Barrange(under construction) in Haryana, as also with UP's reluctance to transfer the "administrative" control of the Okhla-Hodal portion of the Agra Canal and its distributaries to Haryana.
