Solar powered air conditioning which for, the first time ever, has proved workable in a large test project in Jiangmen City, in southern China. The system become operational in early 1998. It is the absorption chiller used in conjuction with the solar collectors that is novel. Another novelty is the two stage absorption chiller. It's a regular absorption chiller used to produce air-conditioning but it was specially built to make use of low temperature water, around 65 to 70 degrees Celsius, as well as higher temperature water, around 90 degrees Celsius.
